Why do we worship the way we do?

WHY DO WE WORSHIP GOD?

For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.' (Matt 4:10).

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. (Psalm 95:6).



HOW DO WE WORSHIP GOD?

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24).



WHY DO WE SING AND LIFT UP OUR HANDS?

O my Strength, I sing praise to You; You, O God, are my fortress, my loving God. (Psalm 59:17).

Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. (Psalm 63:4).



WHY DO WE CLAP OUR HANDS?

Oh clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! (Psalm 47:1).



WHY DO WE DANCE AND KNEEL BEFORE THE LORD?

Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! (Psalm 150:4).

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker (Psalm 95:6).



WHY DO WE PRAY AND SING IN TONGUES?

For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding, I sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. (1 Cor 14:14-15).



WHY DO WE PROPHESY?

Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophecy. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. (1 Cor 14:1,3).



WHY DO WE PRAY FOR THE SICK WITH THE LAYING ON OF HANDS AND THE ANOINTING WITH OIL?

They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. (Mark 16:18).

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (James 5:14).



WHY DOES THE WHOLE CHURCH PRAY AT ONCE FOR SPECIFIC NEEDS?

And when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: "Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth...
(Acts 4:24).



WHY DO WE HAVE HOLY COMMUNION?

And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me. (Luke 22:19).

For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes. (1 Cor 11:26).



WHY DO WE PAY TITHES AND GIVE OFFERINGS?

"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this." says the Lord of hosts. If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. (Mal 3:10).



WHY DO SOME PEOPLE FALL WHEN PRAYED FOR?

...and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him." And when the disciples heard it, they, fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. (Matt 17:5-6).

As Saul journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" (Acts 9:3-4).
